Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Serve as the creamy base, packed with protein.
  • 1 medium Cucumber Grated for refreshing crunch.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for a zesty kick.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Enhances richness with healthy fats.
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar or lemon juice Brightens the flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.

Optional Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Fresh dill or mint Chopped for aromatic freshness.

Preparation

  • Grate the cucumber using a box grater and place it in a clean dish towel.
  • Twist the towel to drain excess moisture from the cucumber.
  • Mince the garlic by hand or with a garlic press.
  • Gather all ingredients including Greek yogurt, drained cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice, salt, and optional herbs.

Mixing

  • In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt with the grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, and vinegar or lemon juice.
  • Stir everything thoroughly until well incorporated.
  • Season with salt to taste and add fresh chopped herbs if using.
  • Mix gently until the sauce has a creamy, spreadable texture.

Serving

  • Transfer the Tzatziki Sauce to a serving bowl and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Serve with fresh vegetables, pita bread, or grilled proteins.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, use full-fat Greek yogurt. Letting it chill allows flavors to develop better. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
