  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a round cake pan with melted unsalted butter and sprinkle sugar evenly on the bottom.
  • Arrange the sliced strawberries in a decorative pattern on top of the sugar in your pan.

  • In another bowl, cream the room-temperature unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes.

Cooking/Assembling

  • Add vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and eggs to the creamed mixture, blending until smooth.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk until thoroughly combined.
  • Gently pour the batter over the arranged strawberries in the pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once golden brown and set, remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate while still warm, revealing the beautifully caramelized strawberries.
  • Allow it to rest for a few minutes before slicing to let the flavors meld.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally paired with a dollop of yogurt.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the batter, and ensure your oven is properly preheated. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
