Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash your fresh strawberries under cool running water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • Remove the stems and slice each strawberry into bite-sized pieces.
  • Chop the mixed greens into manageable pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.
  • Finely slice the red onion.
  • Roughly chop walnuts or pecans.

Cooking/Assembling

  • Add the chopped mixed greens to the salad bowl.
  • Layer in the sliced strawberries evenly over the greens.
  • Sprinkle feta cheese on top.
  • Add the red onion and chopped walnuts or pecans.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Drizzle the dressing over the salad.

Serving

  • Toss the salad gently to mix all components.
  • Plate the salad and serve immediately.
  • Garnish with extra walnuts or a light drizzle of olive oil before serving.
