Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  • Rinse the fresh asparagus under cold water and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • Trim the woody ends off the asparagus spears.
  • In a large bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  • Drizzle fresh lemon juice over the asparagus.

Cooking

  • Spread the seasoned asparagus in a single layer on your smoker’s grill rack.
  • Smoke the asparagus for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender yet still slightly crisp.

Serving

  • Remove the asparagus from the smoker and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Arrange the spears on a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining lemon juice.

Notes
