Instructions

Preparation

  • Dice the red potatoes into even pieces for uniform cooking. Chop the onion and lettuce, then set aside. Grate the cheese for easy melting.
  • In a bowl, combine the ground beef with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to incorporate but don’t overwork the meat.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.

Cooking

  • Add diced red potatoes to the skillet. Sauté for about 10-12 minutes or until crispy and golden brown, stirring occasionally.
  • Push potatoes to the side and add the seasoned ground beef. Smash the meat into the pan, browning it for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • When the meat is nearly done, toss in the diced onion and allow it to soften for 2-3 minutes. Combine everything for an additional minute.

Serving

  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard for a flavorful dressing.
  • Start with a base of crispy potatoes, top with the ground beef, then shower with shredded cheese until melted.
  • Finish with chopped lettuce, pickles, and drizzle with the sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Opt for lean ground beef to reduce fat while keeping protein high. For extra crispiness, let the potatoes cook longer before adding the beef. Store leftovers in airtight containers to keep everything fresh.
