Preparing the Mixture

  • STEP 1: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • STEP 2: In a crockpot, combine onion, green pepper, garlic, ketchup, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
  • STEP 3: Transfer cooked ground beef to the crockpot and stir to combine.

Cooking

  • STEP 4: Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or high for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every 1 to 1.5 hours.

Serving
