  • 1/4 cup Ketchup Adds tanginess and thickness.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh, minced for an aromatic kick.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Balances the sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Optional, for thickening the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup Water Optional, to mix with cornstarch.

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients on your kitchen counter.
  • Rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts.
  • Mince the garlic.

Cooking

  • Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, and black pepper.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken, coating it well.
  • Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 4-6 hours.

Serving

  • Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it and shred it with two forks.
  • If using, mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce. Stir until thickened, cooking for another 10 minutes.
  • Serve the chicken drizzled with sauce over rice or veggies.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, keep the slow cooker lid slightly ajar during the last hour. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
