Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries Hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar or Honey Use sparingly for health
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract For flavor enhancement

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash and hull the fresh strawberries, then slice them into quarters.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss gently to ensure even coating.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to macerate, allowing the strawberries to draw out their juices.

Cooking

  • Transfer the strawberry mixture to a saucepan over medium heat, approximately 325°F (160°C).
  • Stir occasionally for about 10 minutes, allowing the strawberries to break down and release their juices until the mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Serving

  • Puree the coulis until smooth using a blender or immersion blender.
  • Transfer to a serving dish or container and let cool completely before serving.
  • Drizzle over pancakes, yogurt, or desserts as desired.

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness with more sugar or honey if needed and refrigerate overnight for deeper flavors.
