Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients: cauliflower, extra-virgin olive oil, coarse kosher salt, freshly ground pepper, and fresh herbs.
  • Wash the cauliflower under cold water and shake off the excess moisture.
  • Cut the cauliflower into uniform florets, roughly 1-2 inches in size.

Cooking

  • Fill a large pot with about an inch of water and place a steamer basket inside. Ensure that the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the basket.
  • Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  • Add the cauliflower florets to the steamer basket, cover, and steam for about 5-7 minutes, until tender yet bright and slightly crisp.
  • In a large bowl, combine the steamed cauliflower, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat.
  • Add the chopped herbs and give it another gentle toss to mix the flavors evenly.

Serving

  • Transfer the dressed cauliflower to a serving platter.
  • Optionally, sprinkle additional herbs on top for a fresh garnish.
  • Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding garlic powder or lemon zest before steaming. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. Preferably consume fresh, but you can freeze for up to 2 months.
