Instructions
 

Cooking the Shrimp

  • Prepare the flavor base by filling a large pot with water and adding the lemon, bay leaves, peppercorns, and salt.
  • Bring the pot to a boil over high heat, and allow it to boil for 5 to 10 minutes to develop the flavors.
  • Carefully add the shrimp to the boiling water and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until they are firm and turn pink.
  • Remove the shrimp from the water carefully to prevent overcooking.
  • Transfer the cooked shrimp to an ice bath and let them sit for about 5 minutes to chill completely.
  • Serve immediately with cocktail sauce or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
