Frosting Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Honey Sweetens the frosting while adding a sticky richness.
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar For a smoother frosting texture.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped pistachios For decoration and added crunch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and line two round cake pans with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cooking and Assembling

  • In another bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Pour in the vanilla and fold in your dry mixture gradually.
  • Divide the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.

Serving

  • Whip heavy cream and blend with ricotta and honey until smooth.
  • Frost between layers of cooled cake and on top, smoothing it out.
  • Sprinkle chopped pistachios and decorate with edible rose petals.

Notes

Use fresh pistachios for the best flavor and crunch. Room temperature ingredients will give a smoother batter.
