Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for toasting the pecans.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • Spread the pecans on the baking sheet and toast them for about 5 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  • Remove the pecans from the oven and transfer them to a food processor.
  • Add coconut sugar, cinnamon, and salt to the food processor.

Blending

  • Pulse the mixture on low or high until it transforms into a smooth nut butter, which may take a few minutes.
  • If your food processor gets warm, pause for about a minute to prevent overheating.

Finishing

  • Once liquefied, transfer the pecan butter into a jar with a cover and chill in the refrigerator.
  • Enjoy your pecan butter in place of peanut or almond butter, or as a topping for oatmeal, cupcakes, or cookies.

Notes

Ensure pecans are fresh for best flavor. Adding a tablespoon of neutral oil can help achieve a smoother consistency if needed. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
