Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Adds richness and moisture.
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Provides that essential chocolate flavor.
  • 4 oz Unsweetened Chocolate Deepens the chocolate profile.
  • 4 large Extra-Large Eggs Binds ingredients together for a fudgy texture.
  • 1 tbsp Instant Coffee Granules Enhances the chocolate flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract Adds warmth and depth of flavor.
  • 1 cup Sugar Sweetens the brownies perfectly.
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour Gives structure and balance.
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder Helps the brownies rise slightly.
  • 1 tsp Salt Enhances overall flavor.
  • 1 cup Chopped Walnuts Adds crunch and nutty flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the instant coffee granules with hot water to dissolve them. Set aside.
  • In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and unsweetened chocolate. Stir occasionally until smooth.

Cooking and Assembly

  • Once melted, remove the saucepan from heat. Allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  • Add the dissolved coffee and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture. Stir well to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually mix this into the chocolate mixture.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the chopped walnuts, ensuring even distribution throughout the batter.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top to ensure even baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing into squares and serving. Enjoy warm or allow to cool completely for firmer brownies!

Notes

For best results, use high-quality chocolate, chill the batter for an hour before baking, and store in an airtight container for freshness. Variations include using pecans instead of walnuts, making them gluten-free with almond flour, or dairy-free with coconut oil.
