Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature Creates a creamy, luscious frosting.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Adds warmth and richness to the frosting.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Sweetens the frosting perfectly.
  • 1 cup finely blended Oreos For that extra Oreo kick in the frosting.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in the egg whites one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the sour cream, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Baking

  • Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the crushed Oreos gently until incorporated.
  • Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
  • Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting and Serving

  • Once the cupcakes are cooled, prepare the frosting. Beat the softened butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until fluffy. Incorporate the vanilla and finely blended Oreos.
  • Pipe or spread the frosting on top of each cooled cupcake.
  • Top with additional Oreo crumbs or mini Oreos for a fun touch.
  • Serve and watch them disappear!

Notes

Use room temperature butter for better results. Chill frosted cupcakes for 30 minutes for enhanced flavor.
