  • 1 cup White Rice Serves as base
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Use low-sodium if desired
  • 2 tbsp Honey Natural sweetener providing sticky texture
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce For smoky flavor
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped
  • 1 medium Bell Pepper Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 cup Corn Fresh or canned
  • to taste Salt and Pepper For seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For cooking

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the countertop.
  • Chop the onion and bell pepper, mince the garlic, and set aside.
  • Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • Measure out the rice and have your beef broth ready.
  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Add olive oil to the hot skillet and swirl to coat.
  • Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing for 3-5 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic for 30 seconds, then add the steak pieces.
  • Cook until the steak is browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Mix in the rice, corn, beef broth, honey, and BBQ sauce.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer, cover the skillet, and reduce heat to low.
  • Cook for 15-18 minutes until the rice is tender and has absorbed the flavors.

Serving

  • Check the rice and steak for doneness.
  • Let the dish rest for a couple of minutes off the heat.
  • Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs or additional BBQ sauce.

Notes

For the best results, marinate the steak pieces in BBQ sauce before cooking. Stir the rice occasionally to prevent sticking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
