Ingredients

Egg Dyes

  • 1 cup Beet Juice adds vibrant red hues, rich in antioxidants.
  • 1 cup Chopped Spinach provides a beautiful green color, loaded with vitamins.
  • 1 cup Turmeric gives sunny yellow dye and anti-inflammatory benefits.
  • 1 cup Chopped Red Cabbage creates stunning blues and purples, full of nutrition.

Essential Ingredients

  • 12 pieces White Eggs the base for the dye, providing a clean canvas.
  • 6 cups Water essential for extraction and mixing, balances the ingredients.
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar helps set the color, ensuring stunning results.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather your materials: white eggs, natural dye sources (beet juice, spinach, turmeric, and red cabbage), water, and vinegar.
  • Prepare dye solutions by chopping the dye sources and placing each into separate pots. Add enough water to cover the ingredients.
  • Simmer for 30 minutes by bringing each pot to a boil, reducing the heat, and letting it simmer. Strain out the solids to leave only the colored liquid.

Cooking/Assembling

  • Prepare the eggs by boiling your white eggs until hard-boiled (about 10-12 minutes) at 212°F (100°C). Let them cool.
  • Add vinegar to each dye solution, helping the color stick to the eggs.
  • Submerge the cooled eggs into the dye solutions, allowing them to soak for at least 30 minutes for a richer color.

Serving

  • Rinse and dry the eggs under cold water once they have reached your desired color, then let them dry completely.
  • Enjoy these beautifully dyed eggs as a nutritious snack or use them creatively in salads and bowls.
  • Store any leftover eggs in an airtight container in the fridge to maintain freshness.

Notes

Pro Tips: Use fresh eggs for best results; experiment with dye strength; cover your workspace for easy cleanup; and extend soaking time for darker hues. Avoid mistakes by ensuring adequate vinegar use and cooling boiled eggs completely before dyeing.
