Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a loaf pan with vegetable oil or line it with parchment paper.
  • Chop your figs and set them aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves until well combined.

Cooking

  • In a separate large bowl, combine the sugars, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined—do not overmix.
  • Gently fold in the chopped figs until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Serving

  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Slice into thick pieces and enjoy.
