  • 4 fillets Cod fillets the star of the dish
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil adds richness
  • 1 medium Lemon brightens up the flavor
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced for aromatic depth
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped for freshness
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano enhances Mediterranean flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Salt for seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper for a subtle kick

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Place the cod fillets in the baking dish.
  • Drizzle the olive oil mixture over the fillets evenly.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice on top of the cod.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cod is flaky and opaque.
  • Optionally, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a golden finish.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let it sit for a couple of minutes.
  • Garnish with extra parsley and lemon slices, if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure to pat the fish dry to achieve a nice crust. For extra flavor, marinate the fish in the olive oil mixture before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
