Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Mixing and Baking

  • In another bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just incorporated.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow the maple bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the pan and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Once cooled, slice into bars and serve.

Notes

For a softer bar, avoid overmixing the batter. Store bars in an airtight container for maximum freshness. Use real maple syrup for the richest flavor. Try folding in nuts or chocolate chunks for added texture.
