  • 1 cup Fresh lemon juice Juiced from about 4-6 lemons
  • 1 cup Sugar Balances the tartness of the lemons

Preparation

  • Juice the lemons. Slice the lemons in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice.
  • Make the sugar syrup. Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add lemon juice and zest. Stir in the lemon juice and zest once the syrup has cooled.
  • Chill the mixture. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

Churning

  • Pour the chilled lemon mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Transfer the churned sorbet into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 2 hours.

Serving

  • Scoop the sorbet into bowls and enjoy!

Notes

Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor. Cool the sugar syrup completely before mixing to preserve fresh citrus taste. Serve in chilled bowls for an enticing presentation.
