Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Wash and slice the zucchini into thin rounds.
  • In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, chopped fresh basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Cooking

  • In a greased baking dish, create a layer of zucchini slices across the bottom.
  • Spoon a layer of the ricotta mixture over the zucchini.
  • Add another layer of zucchini slices on top of the ricotta.
  • Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of ricotta on top.
  • Drizzle with a bit of olive oil for added flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  • Cut into squares and serve warm.
  • Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Slice zucchini thinly for even cooking. Consider adding garlic or onion for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for quick reheating. Assemble ahead of time and bake just before serving for optimal freshness.
