Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Squeeze ALL the moisture from the grated zucchini using paper towels to avoid soggy burgers.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, drained zucchini, breadcrumbs, grated garlic, red onion, kosher salt, and pepper until well blended.
  • Shape the mixture into 5 equal patties, each weighing approximately 4 ounces.

Cooking

  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over high heat, lightly spray with oil, add the burgers, and reduce heat to low. Cook until browned, then flip and cook a few more times to ensure they are cooked through.
  • Preheat and clean the grill, spray with oil, and grill burgers on medium heat for around 5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 370°F and cook the patties in a single layer in two batches for about 10 minutes, turning halfway until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

To enhance flavor, squeeze out the zucchini moisture and experiment with different herbs. Ensure cooking surface is heated properly to achieve a good sear. Allow burgers to rest after cooking for best flavor retention.
