  • Rinse the quinoa. Place your dry/uncooked quinoa into a fine mesh strainer and rinse really well under running water for about 30 seconds.
  • Combine ingredients in a pot. Transfer your rinsed quinoa to a pot and add the water or broth along with sea salt.
  • Bring to a boil. Heat over medium-high until it reaches a rolling boil.
  • Simmer the quinoa. Reduce the heat to a simmer and allow it to simmer uncovered until the quinoa has absorbed all of the liquid, which takes about 15 minutes.
  • Steam and rest. Once cooked, turn off the heat, cover the saucepan, and remove from heat. Let the quinoa steam/rest in the covered pot for about 10 minutes.
  • Fluff the quinoa. Remove the lid and fluff your quinoa gently with a fork.
  • Customize your quinoa. Add any additional items from your favorite ingredients to make your quinoa suited to your personal taste.

Notes

To elevate your quinoa cooking game, always rinse quinoa to remove saponin, use broth for flavor, avoid overcooking, and let it rest after cooking to achieve a fluffy texture. Store cooked quinoa in the fridge for up to five days.
