  • Gather all your spices and ingredients to make the cooking process smooth.

Cooking/Assembling

  • In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil or ghee over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the onion mixture to the slow cooker and add the beef chunks.
  • Sprinkle in the ground turmeric, coriander, garam masala, cumin, and red chili powder.
  • Pour in 1 cup of beef broth and 0.5 cup of water, ensuring the beef is submerged.
  • Add in the cinnamon stick and bay leaf.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

Serving

  • Once cooking time is over, remove the lid and discard the bay leaf and cinnamon stick.
  • Stir in the chopped cilantro for freshness.
  • Serve hot over steamed rice or with naan bread, garnished with more cilantro.
  • Enjoy the comforting flavors with your family!

Notes

For a richer flavor, sear the beef before adding it to the slow cooker. Feel free to swap in your favorite veggies like bell peppers or spinach for added nutrition. Make double the batch and freeze half for easy future meals. Let the curry sit for an hour after cooking; it deepens the flavors. Pair with a side of yogurt for a cooling contrast.
