Preparation

  • Dice the onion finely.
  • Mince the garlic cloves.
  • Gather all your ingredients and measuring tools.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent.
  • Sprinkle flour over the beef and mix until fully incorporated, cooking for an additional minute.
  • Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Pour in the milk and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

Serving

  • Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
  • Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits.

Notes

For a thicker gravy, let it simmer longer. This recipe is meal prep-friendly and can be stored in airtight containers for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen for 2-3 months.
