Preparation

  • Wash the asparagus under cold water to remove any dirt.
  • Trim the tough ends of the asparagus using a sharp knife.
  • Minced the garlic by finely chopping the cloves.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the asparagus to the bowl, tossing gently to coat evenly in the mixture.

Cooking

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the asparagus spears directly on the grill grates.
  • Grill for about 5-7 minutes, turning frequently, until they are tender and charred.
  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the asparagus during the last minute of grilling.
  • Remove the asparagus from the grill and allow to cool slightly.
