  • 1 tablespoon honey Provides a touch of sweetness to enhance the flavor profile.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Adds umami and depth, complementing the other flavors.

For the shrimp

  • 1 pound fresh medium-large shrimp The star of the dish, tender and juicy for grilling or sautéing.

For garnish

  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro or fresh parsley Optional garnish to add freshness and color to your presentation.
  • 2 wedges lime Served alongside for extra zesty flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine olive oil, jerk seasoning, lime juice, honey, and soy sauce to make the marinade.
  • Toss shrimp in the marinade until evenly coated, then let them marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Cooking

  • Soak wooden skewers in water if using. Preheat the grill to medium-high and oil the grates.
  • Thread marinated shrimp onto skewers or opt for a skillet if preferred.
  • Cook shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side until cooked through, brushing with reserved marinade. Discard any excess marinade.
  • Alternatively, sauté shrimp in a skillet with olive oil for approximately 4 minutes, flipping once until they are fully cooked.

Serving

  • Finish with fresh herbs, extra lime wedges, or desired sides, and serve immediately.

Notes

For meal prep, cooked shrimp can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Marinated raw shrimp can be kept for up to two days before cooking. Shrimp should be opaque and curl slightly for doneness.
