Preparation

  • Gather Your Ingredients: Make sure you have everything on hand.
  • Prep the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9×13 inch pan with butter or cooking spray to help your treats come out easily later.
  • Measure the Rice Krispies: Set aside the cereal in a large bowl.

Cooking/Assembling

  • Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir until completely smooth.
  • Add Tonic Water: Remove from heat and stir in the tonic water and a few drops of neon food coloring until well combined.
  • Combine with Rice Krispies: Pour the marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir gently but thoroughly to coat the cereal evenly.
  • Press Into the Pan: Using a spatula or your hands (greased with butter), press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan.

Serving

  • Cool Down: Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until set.
  • Cut and Enjoy: Once set, cut into squares and serve. If you have a black light, check out the mesmerizing glow.

Notes

Use fresh marshmallows for the best results. Store in an airtight container for up to a week. These treats can be made ahead and are perfect for meal prep.
