  • 1 tsp salt To enhance flavor

For the Glaze

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup For deep, earthy sweetness
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar or light brown sugar Adds caramel flavor to the glaze

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1/2-inch pieces and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the sweet potatoes with salt and toss to coat evenly.

Glaze Preparation

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until fully liquefied, then remove from heat.
  • Stir the maple syrup and coconut sugar (or brown sugar) into the melted butter until well combined.

Baking

  • Drizzle the buttery glaze evenly over the seasoned sweet potatoes in the baking dish.
  • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake uncovered for about 40 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  • Check for doneness; the sweet potatoes should be tender and the glaze bubbly when done.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and let it stand for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

For a more decadent glaze, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or a dash of vanilla extract. To make vegan, replace butter with a plant-based alternative. Always let the dish rest before serving to enhance the flavors.
