Ingredients
  

Dough and Filling

  • 1 pound pizza dough Fresh or store-bought, for ease.
  • 1 14-ounce jar pizza sauce The flavor base for your rolls.
  • 2 ounces mini pepperoni slices A fun twist on classic pizza flavors.
  • 8 ounces mozzarella or provolone cheese, cubed There’s nothing better than melty cheese.

Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 8 tablespoons salted butter The key to making your rolls golden and flavorful.
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano Adds Italian aroma.
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder For that garlic buttery delight.
  • to taste Kosher salt Enhances every bite.
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, finely grated Extra flavor on top.

Preparation

  • Prepare the pizza dough according to package directions. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour at room temperature.
  • Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) for optimal cooking.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Cut the pizza dough in half. Roll it out to a 1/16-inch thickness.
  • Using a 3 1/2-inch biscuit cutter or a wide-mouth canning jar lid, create circular dough rounds.
  • Place 1/2 teaspoon of pizza sauce in the center of each dough round, followed by 5-6 slices of mini pepperoni and a cube of cheese.
  • Fold the edges of the dough to the center, pinching the ends to seal, creating a ball shape.

Garlic Butter Preparation and Baking

  • In a medium bowl, melt the butter in the microwave, using 30-second bursts to avoid overheating. Stir in oregano and garlic powder.
  • Brush the garlic butter mixture over the pizza rolls before baking.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes. Check around the 10-minute mark to ensure the tops are not getting too brown. If necessary, tent with foil lightly coated with cooking spray.
  • Remove from the oven, brush again with garlic butter, and sprinkle with kosher salt and grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Enjoy alongside additional pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

Leftover rolls can be placed in an airtight container in the refrigerator and should be consumed within 3-4 days. For freezing, let the baked rolls cool completely, then stack them in an airtight freezer-safe container with parchment paper between layers. They can be stored for up to 2-3 months. To reheat, bake from frozen at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes.
