Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and dust it lightly with flour.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and milk, integrating all wet ingredients well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.

Cooking and Assembly

  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
