Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and equipment needed for the dish.
  • Slice the onions thinly for even caramelization.
  • Minced the garlic to release maximum flavor.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and pour in the beef broth.
  • Sprinkle thyme over the chicken and broth mixture.
  • Cover and simmer until the chicken is cooked through, about 20-25 minutes.
  • In the last five minutes of cooking, top with Swiss cheese and cover until melted.

Serving

Notes
