For the Gravy

  • 1 tbsp Oil For browning the meatballs perfectly.

  • 2 cups Beef Broth Adds savory depth to the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk For a creamy finish in the gravy.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, nutmeg, allspice, salt, pepper, egg, and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix until just combined.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Form the meat mixture into small meatballs and place them in the hot skillet. Brown them on all sides, about 6-8 minutes total, then remove from the pan.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sprinkle in flour, stirring until browned for about 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in beef broth and whole milk until smooth and bubbly. Stir in mustard, grape jelly, salt, and pepper.

Serving

  • Return the meatballs to the gravy and let them simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Serve warm over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
