Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and a large bowl for mixing.
  • In the bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using) until fully combined.
  • In a greased baking dish, evenly distribute the cubed bread and pour the egg mixture over it, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  • Add fresh blueberries on top.
  • Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or foil, refrigerate, and allow it to soak overnight.

Cooking

  • The next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Remove the plastic wrap and drizzle melted butter over the top.
  • Bake for approximately 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a knife; it should come out clean.

Serving

  • Once done, let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired, and slice into squares for serving.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better absorption of the egg mixture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
