Ingredients
  

Pasta and Shrimp

  • 12 oz long pasta (spaghetti recommended) Spaghetti holds sauces well.
  • 1 lb medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined Provides a protein-rich base.

Flavor Base

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Adds aromatic depth to the dish.
  • 3 tbsp olive oil Used for sautéing.
  • 1/4 cup Italian parsley, freshly chopped Adds color and herbaceous note.
  • to taste salt Enhances flavors.
  • to taste hot pepper flakes or black pepper Adds a hint of heat.

Preparation

  • In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta until al dente, stirring often.

Cooking

  • In a large frying pan, add the olive oil, minced garlic, Italian parsley, shrimp, salt, and hot pepper flakes. Cook on medium heat until shrimp are cooked and no longer pink, approximately 5-6 minutes for raw shrimp or 1-2 minutes if pre-cooked.
  • Once shrimp are cooked, add the cooked pasta and 1/4 cup of pasta water to the pan. Toss on high heat until the water has evaporated, about 1 minute.

Serving

  • Serve immediately topped with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

This dish is great for meal prepping and storing leftovers. Opt for fresh shrimp for the best flavor. Customize with vegetables or spices to your liking.
