Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients. Make sure your chicken breasts are thawed if they were frozen.
  • Spray the inside of your crockpot with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.

Cooking

  • Pour the barbecue sauce and chicken broth over the chicken.
  • Sprinkle the garlic and onion powders on top of the sauce.
  • Cover with the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender.

Serving

  • Shred the chicken with two forks directly in the crockpot or transfer it to a plate first.
  • Mix it well with the sauce for maximum flavor.
  • Serve immediately on buns, in tacos, or as desired.
