Filling and Coating Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cheese Delicious melty filling.
  • 2 tablespoons Baking soda For the pretzel bath.
  • 1 large Egg For an egg wash.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the warm water and yeast, letting it sit for a few minutes until bubbly.
  • Add flour, salt, and oil to the yeast mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small balls.
  • Roll each ball into a long rope, then form it into a pretzel shape.
  • In a pot, boil water and add baking soda. Dip each pretzel in the baking soda bath for a few seconds.
  • Place pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush each pretzel with egg wash.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

These pretzels are great for meal prep and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 3 months.
