Preparation

  • Gather your materials. Collect all the required ingredients and tools necessary for the experiments.
  • Set up a workspace. Clear an area for the experiments and cover the surface with a protective layer if needed.

Experiment Steps

  • Prepare solutions. Depending on the experiment, mix vinegar with food coloring in a container.
  • Add baking soda. Slowly add baking soda to the vinegar mixture to observe a fizzing reaction.
  • Create bubble solution. Combine dish soap with water to form a bubbly solution for bubble experiments.
  • Experiment with straws. Dip straws into the bubble solution and blow gently to create large bubbles.
  • Utilize ziplock bags. Place the vinegar and baking soda inside a ziplock bag to watch the bag inflate before it bursts.
  • Observe the results. Engage children in discussing what they see and how each reaction occurs.
  • Encourage creativity. Allow kids to modify experiments with different colors or amounts to see how it affects the results.
