Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and tools.
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels for crispiness.
  • Mince the garlic and mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season the salmon with salt and pepper and place skin-side down in the hot skillet.
  • Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  • While salmon cooks, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and garlic.
  • Flip the salmon, pour the sauce over it, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix in cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce.

Serving

  • Remove from heat and transfer salmon to a plate.
  • Drizzle more sauce over the top.
  • Garnish with optional toppings like green onions or sesame seeds.

Notes

Choose fresh or thawed salmon fillets for the best flavor and texture. Don’t overcrowd the pan for crispy results. If using leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
