Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 large Russet potatoes Can substitute with Yukon Gold.
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil Use extra virgin for flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt Adjust to taste.

Optional Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Optional for extra flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika Optional for a smoky touch.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Optional for a mild kick.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by peeling the potatoes (or leave the skin on for a rustic feel), then cut them into 1/4-inch thick sticks.
  • Place the cut potatoes in a bowl and cover them with cold water. Allow them to soak for at least 30 minutes.
  • Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry completely with a clean kitchen towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle them with sea salt and any optional seasonings.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Cooking

  • Place the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Once golden brown and crisp, carefully remove the fries and serve them hot.

Notes

Avoid soaking the potatoes for too long and ensure they're thoroughly dry before oiling. For more crunch, consider double frying at varying temperatures. Serve with your choice of dipping sauce.
