  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Helps achieve the crisp exterior.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Adds savory umami taste.
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch Critical for crunch.

  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Adds warmth and slight kick.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Drain the firm tofu and press it gently with paper towels to remove excess water.
  • Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  • In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Cooking

  • In a large bowl, toss the tofu cubes with olive oil and soy sauce until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle the cornstarch mixture over the tofu and toss well to ensure each piece is covered.
  • Arrange the tofu cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  • Remove the crispy tofu from the oven, allowing it to cool slightly.
  • Serve warm as a main dish or as a topping for salads and grain bowls.
  • Consider drizzling with extra soy sauce or sesame seeds for added flavor.

Notes

For extra crunch, ensure the tofu is patted dry before seasoning. Storing leftover baked tofu in an airtight container keeps it fresh for up to five days.
