  • Slice the top sirloin steak into thin strips, ensuring even cooking.
  • Finely chop the onion and slice the cremini mushrooms for quick cooking.
  • Mince the garlic to enhance the flavors.
  • Measure out the broth, heavy cream, and sour cream, ready to whisk together.

Cooking

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high, add the beef strips, and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until browned.
  • Mix in the mushrooms and garlic, cooking for an additional 3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
  • Sprinkle flour over the meat mixture and stir, cooking for 1 minute to combine.
  • Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring continuously, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Reduce heat; stir in heavy cream, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce or Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
