  • Rinse and drain the kidney and black beans in a colander.

Cooking

  • Layer the cooked ground beef, beans, diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic in the crockpot.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth to the mixture, stirring gently.
  • Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper, mixing thoroughly.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until all ingredients meld together.
