Ingredients

For the Cowboy Butter

  • 1 stick Unsalted butter Softened for ease of mixing
  • 3 cloves Fresh garlic Minced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley Chopped
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice Freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Adds umami flavor
  • 1 pinch Salt To taste
  • 1 pinch Pepper To taste

For the Steak

  • 4 pieces Ribeye steak Room temperature before cooking
  • 1 tbsp Oil Optional, for cooking

Instructions

Preparation

  • Allow ribeye steak to reach room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Mix well until garlic and parsley are evenly distributed in the butter.
  • Shape butter into a log using plastic wrap and refrigerate to firm up.

Cooking

  • Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes.
  • Season both sides of the ribeye steak generously with salt and pepper.
  • Add a little oil if desired and place the steak in the skillet. Cook for 4–5 minutes on one side.
  • Flip the steak and continue cooking for another 4–5 minutes for medium-rare doneness (internal temperature of 130°F/54°C).
  • Remove from skillet and let the steak rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes.

Serving

  • Slice ribeye steak against the grain.
  • Top each slice with a pat of the homemade Cowboy Butter and serve immediately.

Notes

For best flavor, use high-quality grass-fed ribeye. Letting the steak rest after cooking enhances juiciness. For a spicier variant, add crushed red pepper flakes to the Cowboy Butter.
