Ingredients
  

Pasta and Protein

  • 12 oz Spaghetti Cooked until al dente
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Can be substituted with ground turkey or chicken

Cheese Mixture

  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese Provides creaminess
  • 1 large Egg Act as a binder
  • 16 oz Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Melts beautifully
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese For topping

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 1 jar Spaghetti Sauce Your favorite jarred sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Enhances flavor
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper To taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Boil a pot of salted water, then add the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8 minutes.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.

Cooking and Assembly

  • In the skillet with the browned beef, add the spaghetti sauce and stir to combine.
  • Mix in the cooked spaghetti until it's all coated.
  • Spread half of the spaghetti mixture in a greased baking dish.
  • Add half of the ricotta mixture, then half of the mozzarella. Repeat the layers.
  • Finish with the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Serving

  • Let the dish sit for about five minutes before serving to help the flavors meld.
  • Serve generous portions and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, do not overcook the pasta. You can also prepare the dish in advance and refrigerate it before baking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
