Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Creates the bar structure, giving it that nice chewy texture.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Adds a rich caramel flavor that complements the cinnamon.
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar Balances sweetness in the overall mix.
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder Ensures the bars rise perfectly, giving them a light texture.
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon The star ingredient, providing that classic, cozy flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Enhances all the flavors and balances sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter For richness and moistness in every bite, melted.
  • 2 large Eggs Binds the ingredients together, adding structure.
  • 1/2 cup Milk Provides moisture and a creamy texture.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Adds depth to the flavor profile.

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Sweetens and gives a beautiful finish to your bars.
  • 2 tbsp Additional Milk Creates the perfect consistency for the glaze.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (for glaze) For that perfect finish, echoing the bars' flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined—don’t overmix.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes. The bars should be golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  • While the bars bake, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, additional milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Serving

  • Once the bars are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm bars for a beautiful finish.
  • Cut into squares and serve warm or allow to cool completely before storing.

Notes

Store your bars tightly wrapped to keep them fresh and moist. Feel free to add nuts or dried fruits for extra texture and flavor. Refrigerating them can speed up cooling.
