Nacho Assembly

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking sheet.
  • Place a medium cooking pan over medium heat and add a little oil.
  • Remove chorizo sausage from its packaging and break it into smaller pieces.
  • Dice the yellow onion and sauté until transparent.
  • Mince the garlic and add it to the pan, sautéing until fragrant.
  • Cook chorizo in the pan, breaking up lumps. Season with chipotle chili powder and cook until fully done.

Layering

  • Spread half of the tortilla chips evenly on the greased baking sheet.
  • Layer with half the chorizo, corn, black beans, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and half of the shredded cheese.
  • Repeat layers with remaining chips, chorizo, corn, beans, jalapeños, tomatoes, and cheese.

Baking

  • Bake the nachos in the oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • While baking, skin, pit, and dice the avocado, sprinkling it with lime juice to prevent browning.
  • Once out of the oven, add the diced avocado on top and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure you preheat the oven fully for perfect cheese texture. Consider using a variety of cheeses for added flavor. Serve any condiments like salsa or sour cream on the side to keep chips crunchy.
