  • 1 cup Buttermilk Adds tenderness and flavor; use milk if needed.
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tbsp Melted butter Replace with oil for dairy-free options.
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips Choose dark or semi-sweet for best results.

For Cooking

  • 1 tbsp Butter or oil For greasing the skillet.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, and fold in chocolate chips.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and grease lightly with butter or oil.
  • Pour batter onto the skillet and cook until bubbles form on the surface.
  • Flip and cook until golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm with syrup or toppings of your choice.

Notes

These pancakes can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or frozen for later. Add a splash of vanilla extract or cinnamon for variation. Serve with fresh berries or whipped cream for extra elegance.
