Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.

Baking

  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Cooling and Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Using the parchment paper, lift the bars out and onto a cutting board.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For even more protein, consider using a high-protein chocolate chip blend. Bake until edges are just set to maintain chewiness.
