Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it.
  • Gather all ingredients for a smoother cooking process.

Cook/Assemble

  • In a large bowl, mix together the chili and sour cream until well combined.
  • Pour half of the chili mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Top with half of the cheese, followed by a layer of frozen tater tots.
  • Repeat the layering with the remaining chili mixture, cheese, and finish with more tater tots on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30–35 minutes or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.

Serve

  • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  • Sprinkle chopped green onions on top before serving.
  • Dish out warm portions and enjoy the cozy flavors!

Notes

Use high-quality chili for the best flavor. Spice it up with jalapeños if desired. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2-3 months.
